So is the world really gonna end in a few years? I really don't believe it will?

I am assuming you are referring to the infamous Mayan "prediction" that the world will end in 2012 (popularized by the movie being released with the same name). Actually, the Mayan calendar doesn't "end" in 2012 - it's just that a new cycle starts over again (much like the flipping of an odometer). It's just that starting a new cycle doesn't make nearly as interesting of a movie topic as the end of the world.

Every society believes they are living in the end of days. This link lists a few of the more popular and forgotten armageddons. bible.ca/pre-date-setters.htm The world is huge, and will continue to spin even if it has to shrug us off the planet.

But I don't foresee it having to come to that, we should be here for a few more thousand years.

This is possible but I guess it's not on 2012. If we won't start taking care of our environment, our situation could worsen. Climate change is already evident right now.

And if we won't do our part, it will certainly be worst in the future. Catastrophic events such as super typhoons, could come anytime which can cause floods and landslides anywhere. And if we won't stop cutting down trees, the flood will be a lot worst than we thought.

If we'll throw our trash just everywhere, it will just get our drainage clogged. The Philippines just experienced a great flood just few weeks ago. Quite unexpected for an ordinary storm.

But because of the climate change, such normal storm was carrying too much water that 6 hours of nonstop rain contains 1 month amount of rainfall. If we won't take care of our nature, there's a lot of possibilities that our world will end soon.

I cant really gove you an answer, but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest. A good paper is one that people get drawn into because it reaches them ln some way.As for me WW11 to me, I think of the holocaust and the effect it had on the survivors, their families and those who stood by and did nothing until it was too late.
