Space Tourism by 2012.... would you prefer 2 hours in space, or a month anywhere else in the world?

I'd love to go into space, but two hours is not long enough. It would have to be long enough to get adapted to the zero-G, which only feels like you're in free-fall until you get used to it, and it would have to be long enough to experience all those little things like eating, showering, evacuating, and sleeping in zero-G. Also, it would have to be long enough to get plenty of time to identify all kinds of places on the earth, and get pictures.

If the trip could be at least five days, then it would definitely be worth more than a month anywhere on the surface, but until then, it's still a better deal to go somewhere on earth for a month-long vacation.

If the choices arer2 hours or a month I would have to take the month on earth. I think it is true that a once in a lifetime experience is worth it even for a short time frame, I would need the entire month for a chance to relax and really enjoy my visit on earth.

I'm afraid of heights, screw space. I'd follow this book I found written by my great, great aunt that visits our families origins in Norway. If I could, one part of the book visits an island my family used to own apparently.

If it's been purchased privately I probably couldn't visit, but yeah, for sure heritage trek through Norway tops 2 hours in space every time. Hell, I'd even rather go back to Germany for a month than to space, and I lived there.

Give me some other place on the planet for a month: Amazon Rainforest Venice, Italy Cairo, Egypt Tokyo, Japan (man, I'd LOVE to see Tokyo! ) Frankfurt, Germany I'll take any of them for a month hands-down. I could do a lot of living and see a lot of amazing things in all that time, things I haven't had the chance to see in my lifetime.

To me, that makes Venice as exotic as outerspace.

I love to travel. One of the biggest joys I get out of my current job is the fact that I get to travel. I have been fortunate in that sense.

Regardless, I still want to travel and see more places. In spite of my travel passion, I'm certain, that if given the chance, I would take 2 hours in space over 1 month anywhere else on earth. True, 2 hours is a short time.It stands to reason that waiting a short time will probably result in extended durations and lower costs; but, being among the first is an opportunity I could not pass up.

The way I see it, here on earth it must of had been majestic to see any area of the world when it was still pristine and undeveloped. To be able to say, you were among the first. That's the way I would like to see space, as one of the first, before it gets so commercialized to a point that there will be orbiting all you can eat buffets ruining its majesty.

Because you said 2 hours in space vs ANYWHERE is the world, I'd probably choose the earth-bound vacation. However, I did see an article recently about a space hotel that wants to offer 3 night stays. I might prefer the three nights in space over 30 days on earth.

I'll choose Japan or Paris over the 2 hours in space UNTIL Space tourism gets pretty affordable. :) I think as times goes by, it's price will drop. Of course it will be too expensive for now because it's just starting.

But as soon as Space becomes a common tourist destination, I'm pretty sure that time will come when it will be a little affordable than it is right now. Hmm, maybe I could try going there when I'm about to retire? ^^ That's about 30-40 years more from now.

I think it'll be a lop cheaper by then. :).

I cant really gove you an answer,but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest. A good paper is one that people get drawn into because it reaches them ln some way.As for me WW11 to me, I think of the holocaust and the effect it had on the survivors, their families and those who stood by and did nothing until it was too late.
