The company which makes your favorite snack food is going out of business?

I think the better idea would be to get the recipe as they are going out of business they no longer need it. In addition they already have books out with secret recipes for all the restaurants and fast food sauces. I would miss choclate covered cherries with brandy centers.

I have done that before... stocking up on snack foods.. I used to have a craving for an orange/chocolate ball that they seemed to only put on the shelves during Christmas time. I have no clue why they would think that an orange/chocolate ball was only good at Christmas, but anyway....Every year around Christmas, I would stock up.. I mean 15 or 20 before I would quit, on these balls. I think my husband thought I was nuts.

But you know what? You can never get too much of a good thing. Lately, its been the Chex Mix-Sweet and Salty kind...Good thing I started stocking up on those, because I haven't been able to find that kind in the last two weeks!

I might stock up on a little bit of the food, but honestly, I wouldn't be too worried. My favorite snacks, after all, are fruit, and there's hardly a risk of the entire world's supply of, say, mangos disappearing forever! I know that there are some snack foods (the processed kind, made by companies that can indeed discontinue them) I used to eat all the time, but stopped for one reason or another -- health, money, not being able to find them, etc. There isn't a single one that I missed enough to purposefully go track it down.

... Wonderful Pistachios... The 10 dollar a bag kind. Or Great Value or whatever its called. If I don't have hot wings the Pistachios go well with beer.

If I didn't have either of them I'd go insane. Lol.

Tough decision! While stocking up on the snack food would certainly be a thought that would cross my mind initially, I would not be sure how to respond to the immediate total absence of the food once I run out of my personal stock, knowing that I will never again taste the delicious snack. I would probably purchase a few individual items without going overboard and then slowly transition into another (similar) type of snack that I could live happily ever after with.

I actually went through a similar withdrawal phase a few years ago when I moved to the US from Germany. In Germany, we have a number of delicious types of chocolate that I grew up with and fell in love with over the many years of living there. There were certain chocolate bars that were must-haves and when I left I quickly spent close to 100 Euros to prepare a box of German chocolates, snacks, and seasoning packages to send to my forwarding address in the states.

Needless to say that two months after I got to the states, the chocolates were gone! My children, my husband and I had successfully devoured the entire box (partly because the shipping of the box had caused some of the chocolate to melt and turn grey). We had given away a few bars to my husband’s family as well, but most of it went into our bellies.

I had made an agreement with one of my former coworkers to have her send me my occasional rations of chocolate from Germany. However, to this day I never asked her to do so. I slowly transitioned out of my German chocolate addiction (my favorite were Kinder Schokolade and chocolates by the Milka brand) and tried out new kinds in the states.

However, since we were stationed at a military base in Kentucky that had a large German population, I soon discovered that the Commissary on post also offered certain types of German chocolate (one of them was the Kinder Schokolade, which I loved so much) and soon I was once again a full-blown addict to the sweet, silky-smooth sensation gliding over my tongue as it melted. This addiction cycle was once again broken roughly two years ago when I moved again, this time to a state in which no Germany chocolate whatsoever is sold. I did find a few replacements, one of them being the white chocolate by Lindt.

However, I did contact and convince one of our former military friends, who is now once again stationed in Germany, to send me a box of German foods and snacks. All I have to do is initiate the action by sending him the money order. When exactly I will do that, however, remains a mystery.

Should I once again begin the love-hate relationship with German chocolate that is sure to lead to heartbreak when I do not have constant access to it? Only time will tell….

Of course I'd stock up on as many Reeces peanut butter cups as I could. Then, when they were no more, I'd make my own at home. Or how about peanut butter cookies covered in rich, dark chocolate.

I won't be without.

Thingamajigs were really good, and I hate that they stopped making them. I'd hate if Reese cups were discontinued. :o) Term Paper.

I would definitely stock up on it! I like Chex mix but not the kind you buy already made I like to make it myself. So, I would stock up on all the ingredients.

LOL I also like to snack on queso dip made with Velveeta and Rotel it would be hard to stock up on Velveeta it's a perishable item so, I guess I might be out of luck on that one.

You bet your ho-ho's I would. If I knew there would be no more twinkies in the world, I'd stock pile! That and my latest favorite sweet chili Doritos!

They seem to fade out flavors often, so I know that snack will soon be on its way to extinction. My cupboard will be full just in case!

I’m super jealous of anyone going. I would go but I’m in New York and agoraphobic.

I cant really gove you an answer, but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest. A good paper is one that people get drawn into because it reaches them ln some way.As for me WW11 to me, I think of the holocaust and the effect it had on the survivors, their families and those who stood by and did nothing until it was too late.
