This has been THE "dream match" for most wrestling fans for more than a dozen years. All Vince would have to do is sign Sting, announce the match, and WE would create the hype and advertisement for it. Vince wouldn't have to do a thing.
WE would sell Wrestlemania for him, just on that match alone. "Greatest WM Match ever"? VERY doubtful at their ages.
Both are consummate pros and would give us the best match they are capable of, but Sting isn't the colorful spike-haired Stinger of 1990 flying around all over the ring anymore, and Taker has slowed down considerably. But this match wouldn't be about being a "clinic" or a 5-star 30+-minute "classic". It would be an "epic confrontation" between two icons who have never met in the ring before.
The "ambiance" and those two in the same ring is what we want to see. They could just brawl and hit their signature moves on each other and the fans would eat it up. Maybe not the "greatest match" in WM history, but possibly the "greatest confrontation" in WM history.
I thought about this one and I really think that after the match, the possibility of it being a "disappointment" "epic fail" would be pretty high. Why? Because the case of the match being impossible to exceed the hype.
Millions of fans all around the world's anticipation for this match would be so great that the chances of them having a match that's just as good or better than the match that fans are expecting would be pretty slim. I'm not saying the match won't be good, I'm sure it would be a fantastic match but I just think the hype will be greater. However, if that theory is to be knocked on the head, I have no doubt that Undertaker will certainly have the ability to do it and Sting also.
As for who will win? I think of it like this. If Sting is in WWE then Vince would have paid huge money to get him, I'm talking including revenue, $2 million in his first year easy.
For Sting to lose his debut match, because Sting will not wrestle before on Raw, that would be a massive set back for Sting's momentum even if it is Taker who beat him, Sting will still be starting his WWE career with a loss and without momentum that could decrease Sting's merch sales, sure the older fans would still buy them but should Sting win, the younger fans would be introduced to this massive Icon who ended the streak which would pretty much make Sting the biggest name in pro wrestling history on top of his already legendary status. Plus when you think putting age aside that Sting is in better physical condition than Taker is, should Sting win then he will not only be available but will have the momentum to main event monthly PPVs for longer with less risk of injury which Taker holds. So is Vince going to milk as much money from Sting as possible by having him end the streak?
Or will Vince's pride weigh heavier than his desire for.
I cant really gove you an answer, but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest. A good paper is one that people get drawn into because it reaches them ln some way.As for me WW11 to me, I think of the holocaust and the effect it had on the survivors, their families and those who stood by and did nothing until it was too late.
