The majority of SEALs (officers or enlisted) that I have come across during my years got respect from me as well as sailors (who were not SEALs) that worked hard and did the best they could in their respective jobs. However, there were also few @$$holes that did get $hit from me (SEAL or not). @$$holes are just @$$holes to me, regardless of what they wear on their chests.
Respect needs to be earned, not given. Btw, if you want to be a SEAL only to gain respect, you will probably won't make it through the pipeline.
Yes .. nobody disrespects that seal emblem, even jarheads will step to the side when you walk down the hall .. ...
I cant really gove you an answer, but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest. A good paper is one that people get drawn into because it reaches them ln some way.As for me WW11 to me, I think of the holocaust and the effect it had on the survivors, their families and those who stood by and did nothing until it was too late.
