Need a little more information. I suspect that the timer may have been stuck. An intermittent problem is very difficult to diagnose because the repair man cannot duplicate the problem.
Keep some records and I will see if I can give some advice.
It is possible that your thermostat's contacts point may be defective or contaminated.
This problem is quite rare but happen sometimes.
Other causes could include a sticky mechanism within the thermostat.
Maybe some liquids may have spilled into this switch. In some rare cases insects have know to get in and affect the function of these switches.
Other causes can include a weak electrical connections somewhere within the refrigerator.
If this happen too often, I would suggest changing the thermostat.
GE makes them a great deal of these thermostats and probably sells these to Kennmore. Make sure you replace it with a factory recommended thermostat.
It is a Kenmore and the model # begins in 253.55XXXXXXXX.
It has a thermostat for the freezer and fridge and behind that is the defrost timer. I was thinging that maybe it is going into defrost and sticking. We noticed happening twice before but only affected the freezer.
I cant really gove you an answer, but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest. A good paper is one that people get drawn into because it reaches them ln some way.As for me WW11 to me, I think of the holocaust and the effect it had on the survivors, their families and those who stood by and did nothing until it was too late.
