You should find a good friend to relate too. A therapist can only help you so far with medications. OCD is probably though a bit different despite what others say..panic means anxiety but doesn't mean OCD.
Though the repetition thought train is OCD which it only has to happen once to became reoccurring in a pattern. Like most every guy for instance has a splice of OCD in the same manner, but in lust in the biblical sense thus proving your normal by having visual images. You just had an accidentally irrational trigger stuck in your mind and scares you that it might transform you to do it.
My advice is to do a non medical route with a helpful friend that will stick with you. Because let me tell you the psychiatrist route, they will advise which is good, the will medicine suppress thought and anxiety process, and work with both into steps. But the bad is...if you successfully do good and one day you can't afford your meds however, expect the unexpected by doing self control exercise.
I cant really gove you an answer, but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest. A good paper is one that people get drawn into because it reaches them ln some way.As for me WW11 to me, I think of the holocaust and the effect it had on the survivors, their families and those who stood by and did nothing until it was too late.
