I don't have an exact dollar amount But Portland Psychotherapy Clinic has a sliding scale payment method that will most likely be fairly reasonable. You will have to bring paystubs to prove your income level and they will match what you can most likely afford. I've been to sliding scale clinics in three different States and they offer excellent services.
You can have access to councilling, psychiatry, drug treatment and several other services. Sources: portlandpsychotherapyclinic.com/ .
Mookie626 First of all, I am so sorry that you find yourself in this difficult position. I applaud you for being willing to take the first step to feel better. I know from experience that it is very difficult to reach out for help, especially when you are depressed!
But I want to assure you that there are resources available to you in the Portland area. You can dial 211 from any phone, and reach the information and referral service. They are simply a social service clearinghouse, and will help you find what you need, free of charge.
You can also go online and do a search for local resources, at: 211info.org/ As to the anti-depressants, it all depends on what is prescribed. There are generics, such as fluoxetine (Proxac), which can cost as little as $4.00/month or $10.00/90 days (these prices are usually available at most chain drug and grocery stores, as well as Target or Wal-Mart. ) Also, some clinics can provide you with samples.
Just be sure you are clear to the doctor or other health care professional you see that you do not have prescription drug coverage. Many people don’t these days, and health care professionals are used to this, so don’t be too embarrassed to bring it up! The best treatment option for most people with depression is a combination of medication and therapy, and although therapy can be difficult, it can also be very helpful!
Please consider counseling or therapy in addition to medication. There is also an organization that helps people who don’t have health insurance coverage to obtain their prescription medications. It is called Partnership for Prescription Assistance.
I don’t have the link at the moment, but will post it on the Discussion Board for this question (located below the question; just keep scrolling. ) I hope you will be able to use this information to find the help that you need. The one, most important thing I have learned from my bouts with depression is: things CAN get better!
It’s really hard to believe that when you are depressed, but feeling hopeless is part of what depression does to you. Good luck, and God bless you! If we at Askville can do anything else to help you, feel free to post any time, or if I can help, you can send me a Private Message (just click on my profile avatar.) Katherine .

What happens to ethics in the medical profession when a doctor must consider what an insurance company will allow by way.
I have no insurance and need treated for high blood pressure only!
I have no insurance or doctor but need a Rx.
I cant really gove you an answer, but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest. A good paper is one that people get drawn into because it reaches them ln some way.As for me WW11 to me, I think of the holocaust and the effect it had on the survivors, their families and those who stood by and did nothing until it was too late.
