What are some of the best graphic novels?

Watchmen - a brilliant story from beginning to end > anything Astro City, but perhaps the best story is the Confessor > all of the Fables trade paperbacks - start at the beginning, and it only gets better > Identity Crisis - probably the best of DC's crisis stories > Criminal - any of the trades, but start at the beginning.

Anything written by Neil Gaiman neilgaiman.com/works/Comics/ I really liked "Sandman" , "1602" and "Books of Magic"

.

Well pound for pound, My fave has always been The Killing Joke. It's a very different take on the Joker, but also one of the more disturbing Batman G.N. 's. Probably not for kids.

However, my OTHER fave is the Battle Chasers G.N. Which is really like the first 6 comincs. It's a fun read, but really what caught me was the art. Be aware that there is some (ahem) rather ridiculously endowed ladies in there, but that aside, the story is reall cool and the concept is really exciting.

Again, the art really moves it! Joe Mad is a genius....

I cant really gove you an answer, but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest. A good paper is one that people get drawn into because it reaches them ln some way.As for me WW11 to me, I think of the holocaust and the effect it had on the survivors, their families and those who stood by and did nothing until it was too late.
