This will sound extravagant, but considering how cheap electronics are becoming, it may not be so far-fetched: There could be a laser bar-code reader and digital display in each cart so you could have a running total of the cost of your purchases as you shop. (Except stuff that needs to be weighed.).
I always used to say they should have a horn or a bell, to alert another person with a cart, coming around a corner. I don't know how many times, I've met carts coming toward me, as I rounded a corner, or someone rounded a corner and almost hitting my cart. It wouldn't hurt for them to have 'stop and go' signs to avoid all of the shopping congestion.
As often there can be 'bottle necks' along the side aisles and the main ones. Especially to the check out area.
I cant really gove you an answer, but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest. A good paper is one that people get drawn into because it reaches them ln some way.As for me WW11 to me, I think of the holocaust and the effect it had on the survivors, their families and those who stood by and did nothing until it was too late.
