Choose whole grains rather than processed grains. Whole grains have been shown to make a difference to aging of the arteries and immune system. Instead of enriched flour or processed flour or semolina, choose breads and pastas made from whole grain wheat.
It may take a little retraining of your cooking processes and palate, but it's worth the benefit.
I cant really gove you an answer,but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest.
