Father works and provides a stable home. Wife had an affair but was faithful for 14 years and was a home maker most years and now has to find a job. Just wondering how tough the road would be to win joint custody when the wife wants full custody Asked by tjarma 19 months ago Similar questions: odds father winning joint custody paying fraction child support Politics & Law > Law.

Sorry you are going through this mess. Whatever happens, I wish you the best. I don't know what state you are in, but some states are harder for a man to get custody than a woman, thinking that a child needs their mother.
Fact is a child needs both of their parents, not necessarily together, but still not one more than the other. Another thing to consider is the beliefs of the judge hearing your case. The judge is going to look at who is able to best provide for the child, stable home, stable finances without having to be gone long hours for work, closer emotional relationship.
Many times, the judge will leave a child with the parent that took/kept the child when the parents split up. As for your wife having an affair, that will not even be considered in a child custody case, UNLESS you can prove she is still with that person and he is causing your child harm in some way - neglectfully, physically, emotionally, sexually. It can't hurt to ask for joint custody, the worse that could happen is you get told "no; but the majority of child custody cases are determined to be joint custody.
Good luck and I will be praying for you.
1 You have a shot. I wouldn't bring up the affair. It won't win you any points.
But you want to stress the stable home, your work history, your ability to take care of the kids, particularly while you're working. You also want to have answers for anything she brings up. For example, full custody usually means she's going to say you're abusive to the kids, or your home environment is bad.
You want to have witnesses or proof that any accusations she may make is groundless. You may be able to get the child care cut in half if you're providing half of the room and board.

4 Anyone who tests positive for meth is not going to get custody of any children. An affair that happened 14 years ago is nothing compared to active drug use.

Can you get child support if your childs father is in prison.
Im paying back child support and my child has a baby, should I still be paying back child support.
I cant really gove you an answer, but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest. A good paper is one that people get drawn into because it reaches them ln some way.As for me WW11 to me, I think of the holocaust and the effect it had on the survivors, their families and those who stood by and did nothing until it was too late.
