My husband wants me to agree to joint custody. That lowers the child support. Would a judge rule in my favor for more?
He makes 65K/year and I havent worked in 13 years. We have 2 kids and if I agree then the kids standard of living would be far less at my home than his. If we agree to joint custody, would a court award more since Im starting at entry level work?

1 Well, there are a couple of issues here. Child support is only suppose to pay for the support of the children, not your support. You would have to apply for alimony in your divorce procedures to cover your support.
You didn't mention the age of the children. But if they are of school age, a judge might suggest that you get a full-time job to help cover your household expenses. Likewise, if your husband has the kids half of the time, it's reasonable to assume that he's covering a portion of their child support while they are at his home, so he might get a reduction in child support.
You might want to do a Google search for a child support calculator for your state. I ran the numbers for my state and your husband would have to pay $2221 per month as well as cover health insurance for the kids if you had full custody. If you figure that at $65k he clears $45k and has to pay you $26,652 as well as health insurance (let's say $30k total) he will only have $15k to live on.So the bottom line is that neither of you will be living in the lap of luxury.
Divorce is difficult for both parents! .

" "When divorcing in TX will the judge set child support even though my husband won't ask. We agreed to split her costs." "If the mother has full custody her new husband adopt the child? " "what are the odds of a father winning joint custody and paying a fraction of child support?

I cant really gove you an answer, but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest. A good paper is one that people get drawn into because it reaches them ln some way.As for me WW11 to me, I think of the holocaust and the effect it had on the survivors, their families and those who stood by and did nothing until it was too late.
