What are the safety ratings for a 2010 Chevy Impala?

According to the Chevrolet website, the 2010 Chevy Impala has the highest possible crash safety rating. However, if you look at a conglomeration of these ratings from different rating groups, that statement is in fact only a half truth. When it comes to NHSTA frontal crash test ratings, this vehicle does in fact have a five star frontal crash test safety rating.

What that means is that if you were to be in a front-end collision in this vehicle, you would have the maximum level of protection available, according to the safety features available on this vehicle. Since the majority of crashes today are in fact front-end collisions, this information is still valuable. However, when it comes to other types of crashes, a fellow safety rating company reveals different results.
