Debbie Bliss I love the designs of Debbie Bliss; she has beautiful patterns. I also have found some great free patterns at Knitting Pattern Central (knittingpatterncentral.com/index.php). Another excellent resource is Knitter’s Review Forum (knittersreview.com/forum/) which has all kinds of information including links to free patterns.

You might want to consider posting your question on one of the forums at Knitter's Review. Since it is a site dedicated to knitting/crochet you most likely will get lots of really good suggestions; I have always found it to be very helpful. Hope this helps.

There are some great books out there, and than there is the Internet There are only a few knitting magazines that have issues for children's knit, like Pingouin, Rebecca, Knitters Magazine , and Knitters World. Lots of books to chose from, Vogue on the go books have some nice kids patterns, so does Rowan. But lately, one of my favorite place to look for any kind of pattern is: knittingpatterncentral.com Click on the "Free Knitting Pattern Directory" link, and you will find hundreds of patterns in all kind of categories, including babies and children.

Some of the pattern will also bring you to other web sites such as Lion Brand, who also has plenty of free patterns to chose from. There are so many it is really difficult to chose, and for any level, from beginner to advanced. As your grandchildren grow up, you will find new patterns to fit them.

I cant really gove you an answer,but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest.
