What blogging or web design tool is best for creating a website with static pages that need to be updated on a regular basis?

If it's a simple site, check out Weebly. It's very easy to use, all drag-and-drop. You can have a site on their domain name for free, or pay a little bit to use your own domain name.

weebly.com/ If you want to mix and match blogging and static pages, Wordpress is good. It's more flexible and powerful than Weebly, and has lots of plug-ins you can get to add extra features. You can host a site on wordpress.Com for free, or if you want your own domain name, you can use one of the many hosting providers that support Wordpress.

wordpress.com/ wordpress.org/ If your site is very complex, and those aren't adequate, you could consider Drupal or Joomla. But if you need to ask a question like this here, you'll probably need to get professional help to build your site with either of those. The software for both is open source and free, but you'll need to buy hosting for your site.

If you are looking for a blogging application that's easy to maintain and update, then I'd suggest you install wordpress on your domain. You can do so by installing Fantistico from your cpanel. If you already have an hosting account for the domain , then login to your website's cpanel.

You will find the Fantistico icon with a blue smiley face. This allows you one-click installation of wordpress. I have been running an insurance blog on wordpress since some time now and never had an issue that I couldn't get sorted out.

I do have questions from time to time for which I visit their help forum at wordpress.org/support/ . They have helped me out with questions about installation, CSS, Themes, plugins etc. The support staff is very helpful and quick to respond and of course they help for free. Here I must add that the support at wordpress.

Org is different from wordpress. Com in that wordpress.Org provides support for the wordpress platform whereas wordpress. Com hosts the free blogs on their servers.

If you want to go the free way, then in order of preference will be 1. Wordpress.com.2.Blogger.Com 3.Weebly. Com There are more free one out there but stick with larger setup and your site won't "disappear" if they have to close down.

Why wordpress? It is more intuitive, blogger less so, weebly is simply slow to create and update the page. If you are using your own site, definately wordpress.org.

Just a 1 click install and you are done. You can even use windows live writer to update the site.

If you take a look at the statistics at Spinn3r (spinn3r.com/statistics) it lists the most widely used blog providers. These stats are updated almost every hour. While they are having some trouble with their data right now, I can't image the information to change drastically.

Upon my writing this, 92% of the bloggers out there use Blogspot (or Blogger) and 7% are using Wordpress. While their are many providers out their to host your blog, if you are new to blogging, Blogger is very easy to use. Get your feet wet with it and then start a list of what you'd like it to do better for you, then you can shop around for a different option that addresses your needs.

I prefer Dreamweaver. It's not free. But it's easy to use.

I find wordpress easy to work with. You can choose a design and plug in your blog and other web stuff. Wordpress blogs are free, I believe that a wordpress fully customizable website may cost.

I recently moved my blog over to Squarespace.com. It is a little more expensive than some of the other suggestions but I haven't found an easily way to build and maintain a webpage. Even if you do find the tools provided a little overwhelming they have detailed videos that show you how to do pretty much anything using their engine.

I cant really gove you an answer,but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest. A good paper is one that people get drawn into because it reaches them ln some way.As for me WW11 to me, I think of the holocaust and the effect it had on the survivors, their families and those who stood by and did nothing until it was too late.
