From most important to least important 1. Enact a balanced budget amendment to the U.S. Constitution. 2.
Give presidents line-item veto power with congress retaining the power to override. 3. Bring all troops on foreign soil home to defend the homeland instead.
4. Abolish the Dept. Of homeland security and give duties to the Dept.
Of defense. 5. Eliminate all earmarks (although this could be accomplished by #2 above).
6. Eliminate all agricultural price supports, subsidies, and incentives not to plant. 7.
Eliminate entitlements that only help small populations and not the nation as a whole. 8. Vote Libertarian (it's last because politicians are generally a disreputable lot, but libertarians are the most honorable amongst them).
I'm given a Budget to run my Squad, I have 26 detectives and 30 plain clothes officers assigned. We are responsible for Investigating Homicides/Robbery's, within our Jurisdiction. Out of that Budget, I have a proportion expense to help the Forensics dept of our agency.
Forecasting is the biggest headache one can have, when dealing with unknowns. All I can go on is past years. No one in this business has a crystal ball and can tell us how many armed robbery's/Shootings/stabbings/etc, we are going to be faced with.
It is easy to sit back and say, cut here and cut there, But until that is your budget they are screwing with, you don't really understand the full impact of arbitration. I only have one little department to be responsible for. Hell I can just imagine what its like for the whole damn country.
Stopping waste, Stopping impulse spending, wish list, etc is extremely helpful. Making sure that what is purchased is applied in the most efficient way possible. Budgets almost become personal.
They are like one of your kids or loved ones. You become very protective. But in the end there is only one pie, and we all must be served from that pie.
So all those doing the slicing have to be mindful of the impact that is either added or taken away when that slice is made. Thanks.
I cant really gove you an answer, but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest. A good paper is one that people get drawn into because it reaches them ln some way.As for me WW11 to me, I think of the holocaust and the effect it had on the survivors, their families and those who stood by and did nothing until it was too late.
