What causes a car to skip when you give it gas or take your foot off the gas pedal?

This is usually a sign of a timing error... depending on make/model of your car you may need diagnostics of a timing light and a manual... I guess it could also be dirty air-filter or mixture incorrect I would suggest you check the timing though!

I cant really gove you an answer,but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest.
