We are having a destination wedding and two receptions. We are getting married in January and we are having two receptions...one in March, one in May. One is in my home town, one in his.
So, the question is, what date do we put on the registry? Does it matter? I know there are completion programs and incentives...should we put the last date, the one in May?
What are the drawbacks from doing something like that? Hopefully this is my last registry question. You guys have been a great help so far.

Avvoo_SUCHawitch! Said: 1 TRADITIONALLY, you put your wedding date on there. If you don't want to wait until May for gifts, stores might run out of what you like, whatever, you might want to put the March date.
I'm just thinking about the potential discontinuation of what you really want. This user has been banned from Askville.

3 That makes sense. My concern is that most people won't be buying anything until right before the reception. That was why I questioned it.My original thought was the wedding date.
The completion thing is that for 30 or 60 days after the date, they will give us a percentage off the items on our registry that we buy. We aren't going to be buying anything until after the may reception. So, that feature is completely lost if we use the wedding date.

Bonnie~S replied to post #3: 4 If you want to keep the wedding registry as a keepsake, then I think your wedding day should be on it. Is there any way you can have 2 separate registries, 1 with your wedding date, and 1 for May, and duplicate the entries so you'll have a keepsake and one to cover the percentage off discounts? .

" "I'm a wedding minister and I need a microphone and amplifier so I can be heard at weddings (many of which are outside). " "should gifts be given or expected at a destination wedding?
I'm a wedding minister and I need a microphone and amplifier so I can be heard at weddings (many of which are outside).
I cant really gove you an answer, but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest. A good paper is one that people get drawn into because it reaches them ln some way.As for me WW11 to me, I think of the holocaust and the effect it had on the survivors, their families and those who stood by and did nothing until it was too late.
