What distinguishes communism from socialism, and how do these ideologies affect our modern society?

Classic defintion: Communism is an economic system where there is, in theory, no private property, and just like the speed of light it can be approached but never reached as human nature would not allow it to be so.

Socialism is where the state owns the major means of production for a society.

Working examples of Socialism is found throughout Europe. There are no true examples of Communism, no more than there is a true utopia.

I cant really gove you an answer, but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest.
