I have to admit that I haven't been too excited about American chocolate - too sweet, too little chocolate. We have Oreos here, but meh... We also have Lays chips, but if you can find some flavours that we don't have in Denmark, that'd be fun. Someone also suggested American ground coffee, which is also a good idea, I think most would like to try that.
We're not the biggest peanut butter nation, but according to my US friends living here, nothing beats Jiff peanut butter, and the stuff you can get here is barely edible, so maybe a jar of Jiffs? :p Of course the thing is, should you try and find a match with the Danish culture or is it more about presenting the US culture? E.g.
We're not big on finished mixes or prepacked cakes, and it's not something we'd bring if it were the other way round, but if the point is to bring something we view as American food and American culture, and you obviously don't want it to spoil, then I'd suggest a box of mac n' cheese. I obviously don't know if it's eaten as much in the US as I think it is, but it's something I connect 100% with the US. I've never had it (although I've had something similar in Greece) and never thought to make it myself.
Whatever you decide to bring, keep in mind that while most Danish households have microwave ovens, not all do, e.g. I don't. Had one once, never used it. ;).
I cant really gove you an answer, but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest. A good paper is one that people get drawn into because it reaches them ln some way.As for me WW11 to me, I think of the holocaust and the effect it had on the survivors, their families and those who stood by and did nothing until it was too late.
