America is a free country. People have the right to worship where they please. I do not feel it is a problem in any way.
In fact, I agree with Obama: it says something good about religious tolerance for them to be there. I am disappointed that so many Americans (I think at least 65% last I heard) are against it. What is an okay distance to build it, anyway?
Eight blocks? Twelve blocks? A mile?
Many americans have been trying to dictate who can do what and where, and this needs to come to a screeching halt, as everyone is equal and no one is above anyone else. The mosque is not being built on ground zero, it is a couple of blocks away, so who do these Americans think they are by telling others what they should and should not do. As an American , and one who served 22yrs of my life in the military defending the rights and freedoms of all Americans, I totally disagree with the reterict that is going on with this mosque thing.
As long as it is done legally then there is no problem and the only ones that make it a problem is those that are always complaining. Remember there were more than just americans that died at the hands of the terrorists at ground zero. The mosque that is projected to be built has nothing to do with it.
I cant really gove you an answer, but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest. A good paper is one that people get drawn into because it reaches them ln some way.As for me WW11 to me, I think of the holocaust and the effect it had on the survivors, their families and those who stood by and did nothing until it was too late.
