What habit you are the most proud of breaking? Was it smoking, drinking, gambling or something else?

I think I'm most proud of quitting smoking. It was extremely difficult to quit, especially since I actively ENJOYED smoking, but there were so many reasons to quit including (obviously) my health, but also because of the cost and the aesthetic value(i.e. I no longer smelled gross and neither did my clothes, car and home!) Additonally, I was no longer a slave to the urges - going outside to smoke here in Texas in 110 degrees is NOT cool.

I also found that, since I no longer had to go outside, I caught a lot more about what was going on (like in conversation - if you're not there, you don't know what's going on). Over all, I just feel better, I can taste my food and I know that I'm a healthier person for it!

Snacking. I'm about 95% quit. I only slip up when I make the mistake of buying a bag of chips, or other snacks (like Goldfish, or Oreos, or

Petit Ecolier cookies.) I so, so plan on portioning it all out into little baggies for lunch that week, but...
Best to just know my weakness, and avoid it.

:).

I am proud that I quit coffee. I was drinking enough that it would make my heart race. I quit about 6 months ago and while I occasionally miss the warm, comforting liquid, especially in social situations, I am happy I broke the habit.

I found that quitting coffee allowed me to sleep better and in turn I found that I actually had more energy. That was a benefit that I was not expecting. The withdrawal headaches were killer but it was worth it!

Smoking and drinking. I had to do them both at the same time when I found out I had diabeties. Drinking was nothing but smoking...I would wake up in the middle of the night seven months later dreaming about a cigarette.

Once I stopped I never cheated and not drinking made it easier. But it was still a pretty hard thing to do. And of course food taste better.

I quit smoking March 15, 2009.. whooohooo.. The bad thing is that I have gianed 20 pounds... booohoooo!

I cant really gove you an answer, but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest. A good paper is one that people get drawn into because it reaches them ln some way.As for me WW11 to me, I think of the holocaust and the effect it had on the survivors, their families and those who stood by and did nothing until it was too late.
