When it comes down to dog breeds then it is important to think about how much time you have to spend with the dog and if you have younger children or not.
I have personally found labradors and retrievers very good as they are relatively easy and willing to train when bribed with food and are quite happy to be lazy and do nothing, although they do enjoy a good walk as well.
If you prefer an active dog and have plenty of time for exercising then border collies can be great fun. Easy to train (good and bad habits) but do need exercise and lots of it.
My personal favorites are German Shepherd and Chocolate lab, both beautiful and loyal dogs.
That is how I found most of my dogs that I have had at least, they love you forever for getting them out of there :).

For me, I would suggest Golden Retriever because they are a well-mannered, lovable and intelligent dogs. They are very easy to train. They are a popular family dog as they are always like to pleasing their master, gentle with the children and good with other dogs.
They are a charming devoted dog. They are also is a good watchdog.
I cant really gove you an answer, but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest. A good paper is one that people get drawn into because it reaches them ln some way.As for me WW11 to me, I think of the holocaust and the effect it had on the survivors, their families and those who stood by and did nothing until it was too late.
