What is the best way to sell goods online...ebay or craigslist?

Similar questions: sell goods online ebay craigslist.

Craigslist is local - you generally don't ship stuff; people come and pick it up. There is no built in payment mechanism. Ebay is national or international.

There is built-in payment processing (PayPal). Delivery is most often by shipping. So they are really different tools for different purposes.

The answer depends on your needs.

I've always had better luck with Ebay. Craigslist seems to draw an odd clientèle.

MY ANSWER, PART ONE:ElBanditoRoso gave you great information on the differences between Craigslist and eBay. I just want to add a couple of points. EBay offers more protection for both the seller and the buyer, and if you use PayPal (which, while not required, might as well be), there is no exchange of confidential financial information between the buyer and the seller.

But as EBR posted, there are fees involved for the seller that cut into your profit.(continued below...) .

MY ANSWER, PART TWO:Personally, I would not use Craigslist to buy large-ticket items or electronics, like iPods, because it is too easy to get ripped off, and the buyer really has no recourse at that point, other than something like small-claims court. With eBay, you build up a rating, based on the number of sales and the satisfaction of your customers, so there is incentive to do the best you can to satisfy your buyers. And a 100% or very close satisfaction rating is going to make more people inclined to buy from you.So if you are looking to make a commitment to selling items, I think eBay would be your better choice.

But if this is just an occasional sale, and you don't mind dealing directly with your buyer, and are careful not to let them rip you off (like giving you a worthless check, for instance), you could certainly try Craigslist. Katherine .

Actually, for books, Amazon is probably the best. I've sold quite a few on there and gotten more for them there than I ever would have gotten on eBay.

Oops, hit the Reply thing by accident! For other items, if they're smaller, eBay is probably best. The problem with eBay is if you're auctioning them off and you have a low minimum bid, you might have some bottom feeders sitting there waiting until your auction gets down to its last 30 seconds and then they bid on it and all you get is the minimum.

If you don't care what you get - that's ok. All I can say about Craig's list is - I've heard some bad stories about people getting robbed, mugged, you-name-it, by people who came by to get their item. Depending upon what you have, you might want to consider Half.com which is a division of eBay - you set the price, list it and forget about it until someone buys it.

The problem is, of course, you might forget about it, sell it, and then a year later someone buys it and - uh, oh - its already gone! Ok - now its time to hit the Reply thingy! .

Www.craigslist.com is free but limited to a local audience. ebay.com" rel="nofollow">Www.ebay.com and amazon.com are national but there are fees. I would try craislist.org first.

You will typically sell much faster on Amazon.com or ebay.com .

I just heard this on the news... Here in PA, if you sell goods for other people on Ebay, you have to have something.

I cant really gove you an answer, but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest. A good paper is one that people get drawn into because it reaches them ln some way.As for me WW11 to me, I think of the holocaust and the effect it had on the survivors, their families and those who stood by and did nothing until it was too late.
