What is the point of television soaps/dramas?

IMO, it is a way to escape your real life. Through soaps, you can see how other people struggle daily, and forget about your own problems. They are simply a way to entertain.

After all, soap operas are the reason for everything we have on TV today. Guiding Light paved the way for future television, and has shown that through hard work- anything is possible. It has been on for 70+ years...the longest show in TV history.

For that, soaps are the basis of all TV. More.

I cant really gove you an answer,but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest. A good paper is one that people get drawn into because it reaches them ln some way.As for me WW11 to me, I think of the holocaust and the effect it had on the survivors, their families and those who stood by and did nothing until it was too late.
