Crabs is another word for public lice. Sexual contact isn’t necessary to contract the little critters, but it’s the most common way of getting them. If you had close skin to skin contact with someone who had them, you can catch them.
You could also catch them from sharing a towel or bathing suit from someone who had them. They are annoying and embarrassing, but of all STDs, it sure is the better one to get. Relax, you can get rid of them and the medication is available without a prescription.
The main symptom would be itching in the pubic area. They can also get in the arm pit hair. Another would be noticing blood like particles on your body.
Some people can even see them. They are a red colored mite. You might even notice the eggs on the hair.

This will only kill the live lice. You’ll have to account for the eggs by treating yourself again in about 7 to 10 days. Apply the lice treatment to the wash infected area by following the directions on the box.
Remove any eggs that you can with the comb or tweezer. Don’t forget to repeat to kill them all. Wash any bedding, clothing and other items that might be infected with hot water if able.
If not, you can put them in a sealed plastic bag for at least 30 days. Make sure your partner and/or other people in the house are checked and treated if needed.
