You have sure hit the nail on the head! That sums up everything I love about crockpot cooking. My favorite recipe is more or less my own invention and you can use chicken, beef or sausages to make it.
First brown the meat, and a large chopped onion. Transfer to the crockpot. Add any vegetables such as carrots, parsnip, courgette, red or green peppers, tomatoes, or potatoes cut into chunks.
Make a sauce with tinned chopped tomatoes, seasoning, herbs, a couple of stock cubes and a little red wine and pour over the meat and vegetables. Allow to simmer until all the vegetables are cooked. Serve with crispy bread rolls.
You can adapt this in so many ways, using what vegetables you have at the time, you can add frozen peas or sweetcorn, towards the end of the cooking time. Mine is never exactly the same dish twice, but it always works and it always tastes great!
.I cant really gove you an answer, but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest. A good paper is one that people get drawn into because it reaches them ln some way.As for me WW11 to me, I think of the holocaust and the effect it had on the survivors, their families and those who stood by and did nothing until it was too late.
