As long as the animal was killed humanely, I have no problem with fur It's the same with eating meat or fish - as long as the animal had a happy life and was killed in the most humane manner possible, I see nothing wrong with farms or raising animals for products. The problem is that most companies do NOT care about taking good care of the animals before they die and therefore their practices are what I disagree with. Sources: My opinion .
Cruelty! I know a guy who used to trap and it is sickening what those poor animals go through. I know a lot of people say, "but they are *just* an animal".

It is animal cruelty but then all of our chicken, pork and beef involve animal cruelty too. I do see fur as mostly pointless and silly, though. I eat meat, I have things made from leather and I like leather, and I've owned a few rabbits feet over the years... I guess the way I look at it is technically we could all become vegetarians and not kill any animals, but killing them for food is more reasonable... and the leather usually comes from the same cows, I think - so that's just making use of the whole animal - waste not, want not.
Whereas fur (in the fashion industry sense, not deer skins or rabbit fur in gloves or whatever) involves only vanity and nothing else so it just seems more frivolous and unnecessary, easier to do without.
