What is your wish if you could wish for anything?

It's so funny to me how simpletons such as ZaphodB... have the nerve or the audacity to testify to what is and what is not philosophy. I won't argue as to why this question is philosophy, as that is not the question, but rather to be more productive in actually answering it. Hows that?

But anyways, I would not wish for anything. I feel that whether the poor man wishes for wealth or the rich man wishes for meaning, there is always a remorseful guilt that plagues one when reward is granted without earn. It also defeats the purpose of the reality and perception of reality that we are forced to view the world through.

If we could just wish upon a star and all of our dreams could come true, then what credibility do our live's stand on? What is acheivment? What is reward?

What is work? What is wealth? What is goal?

If it is all relative to a wish or a miraculous shift in state due to the impulse and desires of one, than what is the journey? If you choose to wish for anything, than ironically, that is the world we live in. The world of the journey and the world of the unfair.

You see in our reality life can change on a dime for better or for worse, however it is not in the hands of one or the hands of desire, but the hands of the cruel, fair, randomness in reality that so makes each and every one of us unique in the weathering of reality through the journey we all start. So go and make your wishes, but I choose to live in the unpercieved, uncommon realm of acceptance and less common indulgences on want and ignorance.

I wish to do well at university to. Infact, just writing an essay and decided to take a break and come on Y! A I even have a blog where I talk about my experience as a uni student:D And I've already found flatmates:D I hope I have fun living with them.

Right now I wish that everyone who asks a question in this forum would stick to the subject of philosophy, and if they do not know what philosophy is then I wish they would find out. Hows that?

I wish people would get real and listen/ look out for one another more NOW, including me. Instead af la-la mythologizing about santa`s sack and the truth-fairies and goof-furies.

I'd wish to have an unlimited amount of wishes .

Unlimited wishes so I could wish all I want.

I would wish for no child to be sick or go to bed hungry.

I'd get back 20 years of my life that I blew off thinking my ship was going to come in one day.

I cant really gove you an answer, but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest. A good paper is one that people get drawn into because it reaches them ln some way.As for me WW11 to me, I think of the holocaust and the effect it had on the survivors, their families and those who stood by and did nothing until it was too late.
