What laminate floor color would look good with light maple trim & medium to dark maple walls?

This is a open concept living room / dining room. Always have been very light carpet. Dining room walls are a medium to dark maple.

Trim in both rooms in light maple. There is a chimeny in the center of both rooms that is made out of a decoritive brick that is shades of light brown and and darked redish brown in the some the bricks. I would like to switch to a laminate floor, but am not sure what would look right, and am looking for suggestions.

Be careful, laminate can look very 'fake' next to 'real wood'.... I've noticed this recently, going into some of the newer homes. Some have the darker wood tone laminate installed right through the livingroom, dining room and kitchen. It's not too bad in the rooms with sheetrocked/painted walls, but when it is in the kitchen, in contrast to the real wood cabinets, I think it looks really fake.

When we renovated our log home, the walls were all cedar and cyprus...all different shades of natural wood with a huge stone fireplace. I found a product that solved the problem and behaves just as well as laminate....parquet 12 x 12 squares. It's real wood and has a strong polyurethane finish.

Each square interlocks with the next, just like the laminate. Instead of 'fighting' with all the natural wood, the variation in wood colors fits right in. We have 4 adults and 5 animals running through the house...and Florida sand being tracked in daily.

The parquet has held up beautifully to all the traffic...a damp moping with Windex keeps it shining. Twice a year I use the Hoover Floor Mate (with Windex) to give it a good cleaning...and bring back the factory shine with 'Mop n Glow'. It's going on 5 years old and still looks like new.

We did install laminate in the kitchen...but found it in a 'slate' pattern. I looks like 'the real thing' and looks great with the wood cabinets. Hope that give you a couple of ideas...both the laminate and parquet are a 'snap' to keep clean and are holding up equally well.

I cant really gove you an answer,but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest. A good paper is one that people get drawn into because it reaches them ln some way.As for me WW11 to me, I think of the holocaust and the effect it had on the survivors, their families and those who stood by and did nothing until it was too late.
