What scares a narcissist?

Depends on what it is about themselves that they are narcissistic about. If it is their looks then old age might scare them. If it's about their intelligence then the very idea of being proven wrong about something could be terrifying.

If it's about their abilities then maybe someone being better than them would be the scary subject.

People not being as fond of them as they are of themselves.

Being not the best. And they are also scared of getting ugly. :).

The feeling of worthlessness or that they are not good enough. Being ignored and forgotten. Not being wanted.

Not being loved.

I cant really gove you an answer,but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest. A good paper is one that people get drawn into because it reaches them ln some way.As for me WW11 to me, I think of the holocaust and the effect it had on the survivors, their families and those who stood by and did nothing until it was too late.
