There are numerous sites for searching for non-profit and government jobs. A lot depends on what particular area or discipline you are interested in. General all around sites to view include: http://www.idealist.org/ http://www.nonprofit-jobs.org/ http://www.nonprofitjobs.org/ Of course, there are many sites that will link you to specialized non-profit opportunities.

For example, if you are interested in doing something in the arts, you can look in the website of your local "Arts Council" (or whatever your local Arts Organization is named). For government jobs, on the Federal level try: http://www.usajobs.opm.gov/ You can go to the official website of your State, County and City/Town for similar options. If you are open re the specialization of the non-profit or government jobs, but want to search in your local area, I suggest Craigslist under "Jobs," "nonprofit sector" or "government."
