Curling irons come in many sizes which include: 3/8 5/8 3/4 1" 1 1/4" 1 1/2" 2" The 3/8 is the smallest barrel for tight curls, and as you mentioned perfect for short hair. The largest barrel is the 2" and that would be for waves or very loose curls. I have long hair, down to the middle of my back and use a 1 1/2" curling iron for loose curls.
This is what I would suggest for you. The 2" curling iron for me is just so loose that my curls fall easy. It almost really creates more of a wave.
I suggest going to a beauty supply store and find a curling iron that gets nice and hot. I have hard to curl, unruly hair and love the Gold N Hot. It is designed for ethic hair, so it gets hot.
They have a temperature setting on it, so when my daughter uses it, she sets it to low. I use the curling iron on a medium setting and get perfect curls.
.Mostly this depends on your hair type. If you have a harder to curl hair you may actually need a smaller barrel. In general the smaller the barrel the tighter the curl but playing against that the harder your hair is to (EG Coarse Straight tends to be hard to curl) you may need to use a smaller barrel.
Sometimes you can use a hotter or longer session to counter act hard to curl hair but this usually isn't recommended as it can damage the hair. If you want nice loose curls you may want to consider putting your hair up in rags when it's damp the night before. Much less damaging to your hair and can put a nice loose curl in it.
I cant really gove you an answer, but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest. A good paper is one that people get drawn into because it reaches them ln some way.As for me WW11 to me, I think of the holocaust and the effect it had on the survivors, their families and those who stood by and did nothing until it was too late.
