What spectator sports are in Illinois?

Chicago has several spectator sports teams, professional, college, and high school. The professional sports teams that call Chicago home are: the Chicago Cubs, Chicago White Sox, Chicago Blackhawks, Chicago Rush, and the Chicago Fire. Three college teams participate in NCAA basketball in the city.

Those teams are: Northwestern, DePaul, and the University of Illinois-Chicago. Northwestern also fields a football team and other sports. More than 600 high schools feature football, basketball, and baseball teams.

There are numerous public and private golf courses located in Chicago and its surrounding suburbs. The Chicago Park District maintains six golf courses and driving ranges. Other cities that have spectator sports in Illinois are; Peoria, Rockford, and Joliet.
