Historians divide the history of Egypt into several periods, 3 long periods prosperous (the Old, Middle and New Kingdom), interspersed by periods so-called "intermediate" Old Kingdom (about -2700 to -2200 BC): longest period of political stability that ancient Egypt’s history.
