What war in the history of the world would you classify as "The Great War"?

World War I --quote-- World War I (abbreviated as WW-I, WWI, or WW1), also known as the First World War, the Great War, and the War to End All Wars, was a global military conflict that embroiled most of the world's great powers,1 assembled in two opposing alliances: the Triple Entente and the Triple Alliance.2 More than 70 million military personnel were mobilized in one of the largest wars in history.3 The main combatants descended into a state of total war, pumping their entire scientific and industrial capabilities into the war effort. More than 15 million people were killed, making it one of the deadliest conflicts in history.4 --quote.

The great war is world war 2 because it was the biggest.

Fighting in India The war began with an unprecedented outpouring of loyalty and goodwill towards the United Kingdom from within the mainstream political leadership, contrary to initial British fears of an Indian revolt. India under British rule contributed massively to the British war effort by providing men and resources. This was done by the Indian Congress in hope of achieving self-government as India was very much under the control of the British.

The United Kingdom disappointed the Indians by not providing self-governance, leading to the Gandhian Era in Indian history. About 1.3 million Indian soldiers and labourers served in Europe, Africa, and the Middle East, while both the Indian government and the princes sent large supplies of food, money, and ammunition. In all 140,000 men served on the Western Front and nearly 700,000 in the Middle East.47,746 Indian soldiers were killed and 65,126 wounded during World War I.42.

I'll go first and suggest it was the 30 Years' War (1618-1648), which famously ended with the Peace of Westphalia that "initiated a new order in central Europe based on the concept of state sovereignty. " The war itself seriously reconfigured the power structure in Europe, was the last major religious war in Europe, and had major implications to colonolialsim.

I cant really gove you an answer, but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest. A good paper is one that people get drawn into because it reaches them ln some way.As for me WW11 to me, I think of the holocaust and the effect it had on the survivors, their families and those who stood by and did nothing until it was too late.
