What would happen if a woman, who was 7 months pregnant, were to go into her OB/GYN for a check-up drunk?

My friend, who is 45, was born with some physical defects on his face. S sister was also born with similar defects. He recently told me that he had the opportunity to examine the doctor notes regarding his mother's pregnancy.

On several of the check-ups he noticed comments like "Drunk again" or "came in smelling of alcohol". It is widely known that his mother was a terrible alcoholic throughout his childhood and teenage years. She finally died of cirrhosis when he was in his late twenties.

This is what I was told. To prevent any abnormalities or illness to your baby, abstain from cugarettes (low birth weight), medication unless your doctor approves it, drugs (could be vorn an addict), and alcohol (possible deformation). That was 23 years ago, Bit I doubt the rules changed.

I cant really gove you an answer,but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest.
