It's tough to draw a line between what's "gadget" and what's an essential kitchen tool...I think probably the most essential tool that would fit into the "gadget" category, is a Polder probe thermometer. Master chef. Cook,Steams,Boil,Warms,Fry etc. It does everything that needs doing to prepare any kind of meal and it works on timer,which means you put all your ingredients in and set the time you want it to start,Say you want breakfast ready at 9am,you set it and go about doing other things or say you want your lunch ready by the time you get back home at 4pm,all you do is put whatever ingredients in and set the function you want and the time you want your food for,and off you go to work,school run,shopping etc by the time you get back your food is ready. This I believe everyone should have,I for one am loving it so much.

I cant really gove you an answer,but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest.
