When a person gets a Best Answer, How do they get it? Who gives that to them? The person that had asked the question or?

Askville determines Best Answers. Best Answer is determined by averaging all of the votes an answer gets and the one with the highest score (or the first answer if it’s a tie), receives the Best Answer rating and the Bonus Experience Points and Coins. Also to qualify for a Best Answer Score, a majority of all users who voted on your answer need to give you a Good or Great Answer Vote.

(This is info from the FAQ). Keep in mind that vote cast by the person who asks the question counts as 2 votes. So in the case that you ask a question, and get only one answer, and no one uses a VASP on the question, then you would be the one to determine the final rating of the answer.

If you give an okay, there would be no best answer. If you give a good or a great the answer would be awarded the best answer ribbon. Here is a simple example, if an question gets 2 answers and the votes are as follows: Answer 1: Questioner gives a great and the other person who gets to vote (who gave answer 2) gives a good, the answer received 2 great votes and 1 good.

Answer 2: Questioner gives a good and the other person who gets to vote (who gave answer 1) gives a great, the answer received 1 great and 2 good votes. So the final rating would be: Answer 1: Great (Best Answer) Answer 2: Good So what can you do about influencing who gets the best answer? You can rate all answers fairly, giving as many great ratings as the answers deserve. I have seen many questions here receive 5 great answers, and it is okay (in my opinion) to rate all answers as great.

The FAQ has a detailed description of how a best answer is determined. Sources: my experience .

Best Answer Best Answer is selected based on averaging all the votes an answer receives. The asker doesn't pick the best answer, although the fact that their vote is worth 2 when the others are only one, helps weigh the vote towards what the asker picks. You can read about it in the FAQ down at the bottom of the page.

I'm sure that the other answerers will probably paste the explanation from the FAQ, so I won't. There are other little stipulations, like an answer must have a minimum of 2 votes to get best answer. And if there's a tie it's based on who posted first.

But basically it's just an average of all the scores.

Best Answer is determined by the Askville staff Once a question is asked, people answer it and 'grade' the other answers. When either 5 answers are submitted or the 7 days run out, the question goes into 'voting'. Askville then reviews all of the 'grades' and selects the answer with the highest rating as 'best'.

If there's a tie, and two answers get 5 'great' or 5 'good' votes..the earliest answer gets 'best'. For all of the details as to how 'best answer' is determined, go to the bottom of any page and click on FAQ. The asker and the answerer's Its based on the ratings that you give out after you answer a question. When other people answer, you vote on their answers...and the person that asked the question voted too....but I think their vote counts for 2...something like that. So askville tallies up the totals...and the person with the best rating gets the "best answer" award.

Hope this helps! .

In someone's answer to a question, there was a claim of someone "points scamming" and that person using 3 Askville accts.

I cant really gove you an answer, but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest. A good paper is one that people get drawn into because it reaches them ln some way.As for me WW11 to me, I think of the holocaust and the effect it had on the survivors, their families and those who stood by and did nothing until it was too late.
