Uninstall/Reinstall Network Adapter software There is no mention of your Operating System so I will answer this assuming you have the newest version of Windows (I am not a Mac user). Run windows update to make sure your system is current with all patches and drivers. If anything is installed as a result, reboot and confirm whether the issue is resolved.

Scroll down and expand "Network Adapters" and identify your Ethernet card. Before proceeding make sure you either have the driver disc supplied with the card or download from the internet. In my experiences I have not been prompted for drivers, the system automatically found them.
