When opening a jar/bottle, does your dominant hand grip the jar/bottle or the lid/cap?

I use the lid also. Keeping in mind that if the bottle has a much larger diameter that the cap AND the cap takes a lot of pressure to move, grasping the larger bottle end with the dominate hand will result in an easier effort due to the mechanical advantage. I.e.

Left hand on the lid, right hand on the container, and then bring your elbows together. It maximises both your grip and the leverage you can bring to bear on it. (assuming the container is not reverse threaded) .
