WebMd suggests feeding solid foods by 4-6 months When to Start Solid FoodsYour infant seems hungrier, and you're wondering whether it's time for more than breast milk or formula. "In nearly all healthy children, 4 to 6 months is the recommended age for starting solid foods," says Ronald Kleinman, MD, professor of pediatrics at Harvard Medical School. Age is just one criteria for judging a child's readiness, however."A child's motor skills and stage of development also help determine when they are ready for solid foods," says Marilyn Tanner-Blasiar, MHS, RD, a pediatric nutritionnutrition expert and spokesperson for the American Dietetic Association.
Before you offer solid foods, your baby should be capable of holding his or her head up, says Tanner-Blasiar. In addition, your infant should no longer have the "extrusion reflex", which causes babies to push anything but liquid out of their mouths. Losing that instinctive urge allows a child to more readily accept spoonfuls of infant foods.

Depends on the baby I started feeding my daughter, who is now 8 months old, baby cereal at 4 months. I mixed it with formula and warmed it, and it only took her a couple of days to catch onto the idea of eating with a spoon. They say there are a couple of things you can look out for: Baby has to be able to hold up her head well.
The reflex to push anything put in her mouth out with her tongue has to be gone If there's a history of allergies in your family, may be best to wait until 6 months For us, my daughter had been eating 4 ounces of formula every 3 hours, but was starting to seem like she was hungry in between. I tried uping her to 6 ounces, but that caused her to spit up, so I felt she needed something more solid. It worked out well, because she became less fussy and didn't have any tummy problems.
Of course I imagine every baby is different, but hopefully this gives you some perspective. Oh, and she was between 13 and 14 pounds at the time, if that makes any difference. At the start I only fed her cereal twice at day, in the morning and at night, but at six month I started introducing strained veggies and feeding solids 3 times per day, in addition to her formula feeding.
That's one key concept I took from my doctor -- the amount of formula or breast milk baby gets should not decrease, at least at first, because that's still where most of their nutrients come from. Sources: My experiece with my own daughter .
4-6 months Four to six months is the 'official' recommendation. Early introduction of solids (before four months) may induce allergies and allergy-related illnesses like asthma or eczema in genetically susceptible babies (see Fiocchi et al. , 2006 for a meta-review).
Breastmilk or iron-fortified formula is doesn't contain enough iron for the babies after about six months, which is why iron-fortified cereal is recommended as the first solid and why six months is the upper end of the age group. (Pizzaro et al. , 1991).
I started both my babies on rice cereal at about 4.5 months. But no-one in my or my husband's family has an eczema, asthma or food allergies, so we thought the risk was low. Sources: Me and the cited papers .
Follow pediatricians advice. All babies are different and will progress at their own pace. Some doctors introduce baby rice cereal mixed with formula at 4 to 6 weeks to help baby sleep through the night.
Others prefer to feed only the bottle or breast up to 12 months. If you have confidence in your pediatrician, forget what the neighbors say, just follow the doctors advice.
Between 4-8 months If you are breastfeeding, your baby is getting all the nutrients they need. Wait until your baby is ready. I started my first on solid food at 6 months and my second on solid food at 8 months. My doctor and my baby was happy with both choices.

I cant really gove you an answer, but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest. A good paper is one that people get drawn into because it reaches them ln some way.As for me WW11 to me, I think of the holocaust and the effect it had on the survivors, their families and those who stood by and did nothing until it was too late.
