Brown trout fishing is available on all the islands in the Hebridean chain. In the northern isles of Lewis and Harris the lochs are so numerous that it is often free to fish for brown trout once you have received the estates permission. North Uist is the most famous island for brown trout and fishing here is available for a small fee.
South Uist and Barra are also noted for their fine brown trout fishing. To read an in-depth account of brown trout fishing in the islands please click here. A directory of contacts for permits is coming soon!
