White & Strunk The Elements of Style by White & Strunk is probably the most compact and well written grammer and style text in America. I keep a copy on my desk, and refer to it when I have a question. "White" is E.B. White, writer of a number of children's books (Charlotte's Web, Stuart Little). Strunk is William Strunk, a professor at Cornell University who originally wrote the book.

But there is an excellent website, bartleby.com, with several grammar reference texts, as well as the American Heritage Collegiate Dictionary, a few thesauri, several books of quotations, Gray’s Anatomy, the King James Bible, as well as many, many volumes of poetry, fiction, philosophy, essays, etc.All totally free, no credit card or registration required.

The Elements of Style" While there are hundreds of possible books, I think that the classic book by Strunk and White, The Elements of Style, is by far the best. It is not very long -- I think it is just over 100 pages long -- but it is very helpful, with well-defined sections. Also, it is now in its fourth edition since its initial printing in the first half of the 20th Century, which means that it has been 1) popular as a resource and 2) updated to incorporate changes in American language.

I cant really gove you an answer,but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest. A good paper is one that people get drawn into because it reaches them ln some way.As for me WW11 to me, I think of the holocaust and the effect it had on the survivors, their families and those who stood by and did nothing until it was too late.
