Amazon. Com and Abebooks. Com are good resources for books and text books.
The first, Amazon, is a good place to find books in general, while the second, Abebooks, is a great place for specialty, rare, or out of print books. I searched for home economics books on both sites and I found some interesting options in a variety of prices. For only a dollar (with less than $3 in shipping), there’s a book called Home Economics (Looking Forward to a Career) and another called Alternative Modes of Inquiry in Home Economics.
You can check out these, and thousands of others, at http://www.abebooks.com/servlet/SearchResults?kn=home+economics&sts=t&x=0&y=0 . As for Amazon, my search found a book called the Science of Home Making (A Textbook in Home Economics), which sounds like exactly what you’re looking for. There are two used books on sale for $19.50.
There’s also Homemaking for Teen-Agers, Book 1: A Consumer Education Text. Book 2 of the same title is also available. You can find these at http://www.amazon.com/s/ref=pd_lpo_k2_dp_sr_sq_top?ie=UTF8&keywords=home%20economic%20text%20book&index=blended&pf_rd_p=486539851&pf_rd_s=lpo-top-stripe-1&pf_rd_t=201&pf_rd_i=1429756942&pf_rd_m=ATVPDKIKX0DER&pf_rd_r=1W7QJDYAWZ6WQAHA3NM8 and at http://www.amazon.com/science-home-making-textbook-economics/dp/1429756942.Also, remember to search for “Family and Consumer Sciences text books†to find newer ones.
Although the subject is still referred to as home economics, most courses have changed their name to family and consumer sciences to be more clear about the subject matter.
I cant really gove you an answer, but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest. A good paper is one that people get drawn into because it reaches them ln some way.As for me WW11 to me, I think of the holocaust and the effect it had on the survivors, their families and those who stood by and did nothing until it was too late.
