YMCA, sublets and Pod, I have friends who stayed at one of the YMCAs in Manhattan and found it clean, cheap and extremely well located. I believe that it's right off of Central Park West and 63rd St. Close to Lincoln Center, Columbus Circle, MOMA, Central Park, walking distance to Times Square, etc. They have shuttles to and from the airport. They have various resources and discounts to places in the neighborhood.
Also check out various hotels in the Times Square area - there are often bargains in the smaller hotels. Marriot Courtyard is supposedly reasonable. The NY Times has also reviewed this place called "Pod" that looks very clean and chic.
Other friends were able to find bargains through subletting apartments on craigslist. ComHope that this helps! Google Map View Larger Map www.ymcanyc.org for availability and more details Google Map No map found.

La Quinta on West 32nd Street Personal experience La Quinta is (very) near the Empire State Building and a in a side street from 5th avenue. Close to Madison square. The hotel itself has a very nice rooftop bar with a terrace, you can sit (also in the winter) outside with your drink and if you look up you see the Empire State Building (my profile picture shows the view I mean).
Internet and Workout equipment available. This is the link to the hotel. "The La Quinta Manhattan is located on 32nd Street between Broadway and Fifth Avenue, steps away from the Empire State Building, Macy's, the fashion district, Penn Station and Madison Square Garden.
The Jacob Javits Convention Center is also close by. The hotel offers a variety of thoughtful amenities and services including free Wireless Internet, complimentary continental breakfast, daily newspapers, personal safes at the front desk, laundry and valet services, as well as reduced-rate parking. All rooms are equipped with an iron, ironing board, coffee and coffee maker, hairdryers, telephone with voicemail as well as cable TV with Movies on Demand and video games.
The hotel offers concierge service to help guests arrange for car services and sightseeing activities. Guests have access to the 24-hour business center, as well as the on-site fitness center and gift shop. Larger rooms are available for families or business meetings.
The indoor/outdoor bar, located on the hotel's rooftop, is open year-round for cocktails and snacks and offers a great view of the Empire State Building. " Sources: Me .
New York Hotels Nothing is really cheap in New York City these days, but I usually stay at the Milburn on the Upper West Side. It's a very comfortable hotel with a free continental breakfast and high-speed wireless internet access. Most rooms have kitchenettes, so you can stop at the market and pick up breakfast supplies and fix them there, which saves money. It has a very nice exercise room, and there is access to a pool.
The soaps and shampoos are Caswell-Massey products and very nice. This time of year, you might be able to stay there as cheaply as $150 or $175. When I go in April, it'll be slightly over $200.
Though I miss the days when you could get a deal on a hotel in New York for $125, they are long gone. I think you'll like the Milburn, though. I keep returning, so I'm obviously very happy with it.

Generally speaking, "good" and "cheap" do not go hand-in-hand with "Hotel to stay at in NYC..." But I don't think you'll find a better resource than this page from eurocheapo. Com: eurocheapo.com/newyork/" rel="nofollow">eurocheapo.com/newyork/ They've got hotel rooms listed starting at an unheard of 85 bucks (and even cheaper if you're willing to brave a hostel instead of a hotel). Happy travels!

I cant really gove you an answer, but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest. A good paper is one that people get drawn into because it reaches them ln some way.As for me WW11 to me, I think of the holocaust and the effect it had on the survivors, their families and those who stood by and did nothing until it was too late.
