Which is a better telephoto lens for the price for a Canon?

Personally, I would go Canon... If you can afford it. I got the EF 70-300mm with Image Stabilization and I am very happy with it. The IS means you can go handheld in low light situations (even at 1/15th of a second with no blur!).

It is a very good lens without having to go with "L" glass. However, for just about $30 more you can get a telephoto lens that is "L" glass which is the 70-200mm. Pretty amazing that you can get such an excellent quality lens for a relatively low price.

Stick to Canon Products I used to work in a media office that used a full line of canon products for digital publications. For a while to save budget money we purchased a mix of tamron products and sigma products that were equivalent. These lenses worked great at first, but very quickly we realized that they were producing a lower photo quality and all of them were broken within a year.

We own a whole barage of canon lenses and have never had a problem. If you are looking for a great all uses canon telephoto lens I personally recomend the Canon 70-200 f/ 2.8 or the Canon 70-200 f/2.8 IS. These are both reasonally priced and good for all different settings.

Once you use them a while, you will see that they are not of the greatest quality and you will be out that money.At least if you go with the Canons, they hold their value and you can recoup a great deal of your investment by selling them on eBay if they are not right for you.

I cant really gove you an answer,but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest.
