No, there is no reason to use anything higher than 87 octane. Your CR-V is neither a premium required or premium recommended automobile. By using an octane higher than 87 you would simply be wasting money Check it out: edmunds.com/fuel-economy/to-s….
Gher octane gas won't get you anything but a thinner wallet. In fact, it will make it harder to start in cold weather. Gher octane gas just has a higher ignition temperature.
That's it. No extra power, Same BTUs once it does fire. The only reason to use it is if you have a high compression engine.
The higher ignition temp reduces the likelihood of pre-ignition.
If the owners manual says that 87 is required, then there is absolutely no reason to use any higher octane. That being said, it is important to use a good grade of fuel. Some of the less expensive "no name" brands do not have the detergents needed to keep the fuel injection system and other parts clean and operating correctly.
Try to stick with one brand and make it a good "name brand" fuel. I would suggest sticking to one that is on the list of "top tier" fuels. toptiergas.com/index.html.
Most experts say to use the 87 Octane unless your engine requires more for some reason. Using higher Octane fuel that your computer is not programmed for can be worse (not better). So my advice is to use 87 Octane that your engine is calibrated for.
Your Honda dealer will confirm this if you ask them.
Easy answer "NO" Your car is designed to use 87, so use 87. Anything higher will just decrease the cars performance and make a bigger hole in your wallet. Gher octane is for higher compression engines to control detonation.
A problem you won’t have to deal with.
Just buy the cheap stuff. There are people that will tell you whats better about the higher octane but really it doesn't matter. I have a few vehicles and one of them must have premium 93 or higher. It all has to do with compression and other things I won't go into.
Trust me, 87 is fine.
87 would be good enough. Some vehicles even with recommended 87 end up with engine knock, in that case if that happens, you should try using higher octane, but other than that it'd be a waste of money.
93 are better refined than 87, so it will better for performance and consumption. 87 would not really damage your engine, you can use it especially that your car manual recommend it.
You will get absolutely zero benefit from using higher octane fuel than what is recommended.
I cant really gove you an answer, but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest. A good paper is one that people get drawn into because it reaches them ln some way.As for me WW11 to me, I think of the holocaust and the effect it had on the survivors, their families and those who stood by and did nothing until it was too late.
