Who do you think is the brains behind American Chopper?

I don't think any of the main characters are able to orchestrate that mess. Asked by boatman 48 months ago Similar Questions: brains American Chopper Recent Questions About: brains American Chopper Health > Conditions & Diseases.

I think Paul Sr. Is probably the brains behind the company... Paul Sr started the business and got it off the ground. It was probably mostly dumb luck that the reality series became such a hit.

Really the television series is what brought the company up a dozen levels or so. Before the series they were like dozens of other bike building shops. They were probably making a nice living but nothing spectacular.

The television exposure really launched the company and made them their fortunes. I do Paul Sr has some business sense and what he lacks he makes up for with brute force. He pretty much is a pitbull.

Jr. is good designer...relatively creative...intelligent...but mostly lazy. The office manager guy seems relatively sharp...I am sure he keeps the business running day to day. They have certainly merchandised the show well...I would venture to guess they make more selling merchandise than they do bikes.

Sr. The bikes? Mostly Paulie.

The show? The producers. The chopper business was initially Paul Sr.

's, of course. And it seems like he might be the one who is savvy enough to license their names and logo on everything from refrigerator magnets to video games. But in watching the show, you see that Paulie has a lot more creativity--a lot of the ideas for bikes are his, and he even designed the logo.

Plus a lot of the people who work for them are talented as well when it comes to producing the bikes--I don't think the three main characters would be able to make a chopper without their help. But the show itself is all the work of the Discovery/TLC producers. All the crises ("we gotta finish this chopper in 48 hours!

"), all the arguments, and the lame stunts and detours ("Mikey drives a truck into a pond! " "Mikey babysits! ") all seem very scripted and edited.

There's an interesting Washington Post article I've linked to, about how much crafting it takes to make a "reality" show: "We look at reality TV, which is billed as unscripted, and we know it is scripted," said Daniel Petrie Jr., president of the Writers Guild of America-West, which represents 9,000 scribes working in Hollywood film and television. "We understand that shows don't want to call the writers writers because they want to maintain the illusion that it is reality, that stuff just happens. " Petrie says the reality shows are not written in the traditional sense, like an episode of "Law & Order" or "Will & Grace.

" But he points to the Paris Hilton-Nicole Richie Fox hit "The Simple Life. " "The writers craft the scenes that put the two heroines in fish-out-of-water situations," he said. "When people think of a screenplay or a teleplay, they think of dialogue.

But scripts are stories, and storytelling is the most important. It's structure, situation, character. " The reality programs are, undeniably, a new kind of hybrid entertainment.

The Writers Guild is not claiming that the shows are faked, but it insists that a lot more creative artifice -- a lot more typing and manipulation -- is employed on them than many viewers might guess. In My Humble Opinion it's unlikely most of their creations are usable. They may look sleek, they may have lots of power, but it's really difficult to come up with a good design without careful engineering.

1 Actualy Discovery had put out they wanted a bike rebuild special and the company they chose had backed down so they went to their second choice which had been OCC but Sr refused to use a junk bike and said they would build one from scratch. Well the day the episode aired they had felt embarassed by how they had come across but the fans had loved it so much that Discovery insisted on making more episodes and talked them into. While they love their fans the camera men and always having to delay everything for the cameramen to set up drives them nuts and that is why they were planning on going off the air and why one day they will leave television.

Fans are great but cameras and cords suck. They revealed all this on a behind the scenes special about 2 years ago or so .

I cant really gove you an answer, but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest. A good paper is one that people get drawn into because it reaches them ln some way.As for me WW11 to me, I think of the holocaust and the effect it had on the survivors, their families and those who stood by and did nothing until it was too late.
